Some of you will know this logo, most of you will not, so here is brief explanation. This logo refers to a grid that I use to project over the IT-structure of an organization. You can compare it to a spreadsheet/project-sheet.

Depending on the prioritization of certain areas one can start building the IT-environment. They y-axis is the time-line divided in Q4. The x-axis refers the phases. Each block can be filled up with a specific piece of technology. On the right side you will see the total cost (fixed,variable,unforseen). This kind of grid has proven to be very useful in presenting and even controlling a project (towards the user- and client-side). People tend to get lost in a project. Showing the client complicated projectmanagement-tools and gantt-charts lead to even more confusing. This grid does the trick since it puts technical, financial, managerial and marketing people around the table.
